7-Eleven Adds Pickup Option To Mobile Order and Pay App

Now quick-stop C-store shopping can be even faster. 7-Eleven has added a pickup option to its 7NOW mobile app so that customers can order and pay remotely, then be notified when their order is ready at the store. As one of the more tech-savvy C-stores, 7-Eleven has previously brought several features to its mobile app, including in-store scan and pay, loyalty, and delivery options.

The new remote order and pay should fare well with C-store consumers who are always looking for a fast stop-and-go, which now addresses some COVID-19 precautions with contactless payment and no waiting in line

The following Convenience Store News article reports more on this topic which is excerpted below:

Adapting to new consumer preferences like speed of convenience and contactless service amid the COVID-19 pandemic, 7-Eleven Inc.’s 7NOW delivery app now offers customers the option to order and pay for items ahead of time.

The move provides customers with added convenience and minimized time spent in stores, according to the convenience store retailer.

“As people struggle to adapt to new routines in response to the COVID-19 pandemic, 7-Eleven is committed to helping customers get what they need — when, where and how they need it,” said 7-Eleven Chief Operating Officer Chris Tanco. “The new pickup option on our 7NOW delivery app is an example of how we’re meeting customer’s needs to be in and out of stores quickly with minimal touchpoints and increased physical distancing, while also making life a little easier.”
